It's no joke around here that I'm a little bit animal crazy. I'm constantly browsing kijiji for dogs and horses and any other cute furry animal you can think of. Most of the time I manage to talk myself out of it. Most of the time. And my husband, bless his heart, manages to put up with all my insanity. Even though I'm pretty sure it probably feels like he lives in a zoo--hence the title. Recently, my husband and I decided to start fostering dogs for a local rescue. Our first charge is a 3 month old husky cross. She was found abandoned and malnourished with a cyst on her head. The cyst was surgically removed and she recovered from that, and now she's comfortably in our home waiting to find her family. And we're trying really, really hard not to fall head over heels in love with her (and failing) lol.
I've always wanted to foster dogs. Animals seem to make the heart just a little bit fuller and happier. And when it comes to helping dogs that haven't had the greatest start in life... well, it's just that much more rewarding.
