I am 100% the typical coffee shop writer. Back in my days of singleness I used to camp out at the local Starbucks and write for hours. Now, with kids in the picture, that rarely happens. In fact, I almost never go to Starbucks. The nearest one is about a 20 minutes drive, and the coffee costs a lot. But never fear, because five minutes away, my little town of Oakbank has the Canadian staple: Tim Hortons. When I can manage to get a babysitter, and usually when a deadline looms, I like to drive over there and work for a few hours. Which is what I did today. It's amazing how a change of scenery can turn my productivity right around.
